Wow we had a great hui a kura this morning. We had a run through of what our formal prize giving is going to look like and had a practise of all our waiata. We also did our new action for our code of conduct. Things are looking good guys and gals!

Kia ora! A new year has begun and is well on the way. The Teina class is pumping and we are having lots of fun with our learning stations.

Kia ora, kia ora. We've had a great start back at school for term 3. Numeracy and literacy programs are well under way and preperation for the Nati Awards next term is humming along nicely. Today we are having a visitor in the Tuakana class, Chadey Boy Chambers! He will be helping a group of young song writers/singers for the music composition part of the Nati Awards Competition. I can't wait to see what they come up with!!!

Wow, it's been 20 day's since I have posted a comment! That's not very good! I will aim to post something every week for the rest of the year.

Two more sleeps until camp!!
Kia ora whanau! We are well on our learning journey for 2009 and would like to invite our tuakana whanau to attend a whakawhanaungatanga evening here in our classroom. Dates are still to be confirmed but there will be a panui sent out with each student along with invites as soon as we receive confirmation. This night will consist of dinner, fun and games, curriculum korero and finally a sleep over for our tuakana. Further details to follow so watch this space!!!
Thursday, February 26, 2009Hey whanau! We've been really productive in the tuakana class this week... Numeracy is well on its way, our publishing folders are looking GANGSTAH, as are our Kaupapa books and our gardens are starting to pump. AND, we even have some awsome swimmers that are competing in the East Coast Swimming Competitions up at Te Wai U. (Good luck guys and gals). What more could we ask for?
The camp/curriculum evening has been a hit with students and whanau. We've got lots of support... Thank you Aunty Eva (she's going to feed us, yay!), Jim and Bernie (letting us use their kayaks), Aunty Kura and Harry (showing off their students surf skills), Koka Hoana (generally good for pumping up our competitiveness!), Nanny Pani (Mmmmm fried bread, can't wait), Papa John Ku (crayfisherman), Joe Chaffey and Tamararo (taking some students eeling) and Maria Tamepo (sleeping over with us). There is always room for more whanau so feel free to come along and join in!
We will also be doing some other activities during the night... Look out for the midnight swimmers in the pool and we'll try not to keep the whole of the bay up with our beautifull voices on singstar!

My specel Dad and I sleepd and stayed at home.
It was my baby cousins birthday she is two.
We all had some soft yummy haangi and stuffing.
I got all the stuffing it was hot it had heaps of onions the onions where making my eyes watery but it was soft.

It looks like a tree with no leaves.
My stick feels like a hard white wood.

In the weekend I went for a swim in Maui's white canoe and we went out to the deep. We did a big jump over two waves. It was fun and saw a big wave and we caught the wave. We went fast as and we caught another wave. We stayed out there for ages for another wave. Don came by the canoe and I jumped on the surf board and then I caught the wave. It was funny.

"yeyah yeyah."The kids yelled.The kids were surprised at the animals there.After that, all the noughts to nine got five dollars and got to pick toys for their prizes.Thats how the day ended.

A time I lost my tooth was when I ate a hard steak. It was sore because the steak was still raw. Suddenly I felt a bump in my throat. The blood was yukk. I told my mum and she laughed and she said I might have a toothfairy in my tummy to get it. I laughed because I didnt believe her.

In the burning hot weekends I heard the sound weel,weel,weel go past home. I yelled mum the fire truck has one past down to Waima. We saw smoking smoke at the whalf. This morning when I woke up I went to the toilet. As I was going to the toilet I opened the door for my cat. Suddenly I heard my cat meow he was cold like ice and stink like shearing sheep wool. So I then put him on his precious pillow and he was quietly licking the stinkness off his hairy body. Afterwards my cat and I watched television and waited for my mum to wake up and cook me some beautiful breakfast. Then suddenly BOO! mum popped out I screamed a little bit loud and I asked mum to make me some toast. She said yes becauseshegave me a big fright. I said thanks mama. Then Daianne came out so I got changed and Daianne had breakfast then she dropped me off at school because I was so bored at home. As I was going to the truck heaps of dripping rain were going on me.

Yesterday Mum,Daianne and I went to Gisborne to do shopping. First we went to Pak,n,save. I had to get a trolley to put the grocaries in. First we got a paket of chips, then we went to get a box of fanta drinks. After that we went to the warehouse and got some easter egg and I got 1 which was big and I got the 1 with the real chocolate.Then it was time to go.
When we got to Okitu we got an ice-cream, then we went home.
